This year's Northern Paddle series concluded on Saturday 22nd October at West Riding SC. This event also counted as the Northern Area Championship. Steve Blackburn finished 1st in the NP series while Isaac Marsh won the Northern Championship. Compared to recent years the turnout at several NP events was lower than expected but Ripon provided the biggest entry with 18 boats.
South East England
The 2016 SE Area Series of open meetings has been won by Doug Horner. Check out the Results here. There certainly seems to be renewed interest in Streaker dinghies is the South East with fleets growing at Downs and Wilsonian. Several brand new boats have appeared in Kent this year.
At Newhaven & Seaford SC the Freeman Iceberg winter series is well underway with racing at Piddinghoe. Rupert Smith (1681), Alan Simmons (1700) and Laurence Venus (1706) are all doing well in this handicap series. South West England
An East Anglian Series of open meetings has just been completed this year. It consisted of 2 events in Norfolk (Hickling and Blakeney) and 3 in Suffolk (Beccles, Oulton Broad and Alton Water). Full results are here. Of these clubs, Blakeney has the most Streakers, now boasting at least 5 boats, and their Streaker Regatta in early September was the event that became part of the East Anglian series.
Waveney & Oulton Broad YC now has 3 Streakers racing regularly and a couple more that appear occasionally. Adam Yorkston (1588) finished 2nd overall in the summer Sunday Fast Handicap series and Veronica Falat (1829) was similarly placed in the Saturday series.In Oulton Regatta Week, 3 visiting Streakers joined in (2 from Beccles and 1 from Cam). Several Streakers sail each year in North West Norfolk Week. Check out the event website here. In 2016 the Streakers raced in the 'Allcomers 2' fleet and Ian Bradley was the winner.
Another regatta in which Streakers did well this year is Beccles Regatta, sailed on the River Waveney. Rowan Curtis (1664) won one series and Mark Langston (1789) won two others.
From Bartley Sailing Club. Up to three Streakers are currently sailed on Wednesday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays.

The Scottish Championships have been held at East Lothian YC, North Berwick, in recent years as part of the annual regatta there. 2016 results here.
There's a growing fleet of Streakers at Shotwick Lake in North Wales with good racing at all levels. Streakers are doing well at club racing and local regattas. (www.shotwicksailing.org)
