East Anglian Travellers Series 2016

There are many sailing clubs in East Anglia - but not many that are hotbeds of Streaker racing. At least, not yet.

To help spread knowledge of the class and to offer class racing to Streaker owners who are currently just competing in handicap fleets, we've set up this series of open meetings. This year the events are:

Sunday 17th April - Hickling Broad SC

Sunday 12th June - Beccles Amateur SC (also counts for the Southern Paddle series)

Sat-Sun 3rd-4th Sept - Blakeney SC (2 day regatta)

Sunday 9th Oct - Waveney & Oulton Broad YC

Saturday 15th Oct - Alton Water SC (also counts for the Southern Paddle series).

Hickling, Beccles and Oulton Broad are part of the Norfolk Broads.

Blakeney is on the beautiful North Norfolk coast and the racing takes place at high tide - so be prepared for racing early in the mornings on the two days of this regatta! It will probably be best to arrive on the Friday night and camp or stay in a B&B - but this should just add to the occasion.

The final event will be at Alton Water near Ipswich; it will also be the final event in the Southern Paddle series. Each competitor will count his/her best 6 race results for the final scoring, so you'll need to go to at least 2 events. Hopefully you'll want to do them all!

We don't expect there to be big turnouts at these events but the potential for Streaker racing in East Anglia is huge. Help us fly the flag for Streakers! There are lots of Laser and Solo sailors who don't know yet that they'll be much happier sailing Streakers. We owe it to them to show how good the Streaker is!
