HD Sails Scottish Series

The second event of the Scottish Series was at Newburgh SC on 26th April.  This is a tidal venue on the estuary of the River Tay where sailing is only possible on the top few hours of the tide.

The Streaker and Solo fleets arrived with a forecast that suggested that sailing might be possible.  We found a tide flooding at rate faster than brisk walking and a wind speed of 2mph with occasional gusts of 4mph.

After an hour of socialising the sensible decision was made to abandon the day.  A shame for Newburgh SC who had made all the usual preparation and catering for the day.

The next event is in five weeks at St Mary's on June 1st followed by the Scottish Championships at ELYC of 7th & 8th June.
